As many of you know, NASCAR K&N Series rule changes have left many of us car owners with a fleet of obsolete K&N cars, nowhere to race them and no one to sell them to. I have spoken with many of you about the possibility of a test day and wondering if there is enough interest to support a new racing series.
I feel this series could pull cars from current K&N teams that would like additional track time. I think we could also attract some of the vintage guys that want to compete with K&N type cars/drivers.
Step 1: See if there is enough interest to schedule a test.
Step 2: Schedule a test day
Step 3: Have the test
Step 4: See if there is enough interest to form a West coast series
I have a tentative mid-week test day at Button Willow Raceway in Bakersfield, date to be determined. Track rental for the day is $6000. That would be split among the teams. 15 teams would be $400 each. This would be a full day test with just our group, five cars on the track at a time. Car owners really need to participate in this first test day, if they want this race series development to move forward.
IF INTERESTED IN PARTICIPATING IN THE TEST
OR IN THIS TYPE OF RACING SERIES,
PLEASE CONTACT US BY MAY 2, 2016
We will see how many teams are interested, then determine if there is enough interest to proceed with scheduling a test day.
If we do not get enough interest in the test day we will not move forward with the test, future tests, or series development.
If you are interested in participating in the test day or have a question/opinion please feel free to contact Mike Naake at 916-771-0109 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Also, if you do not own a car of this type and want to drive on there are a lot of owners on the west coast that would be willing to supply one. We can supply contacts for you.
Feel free to forward this message, help spread the word!
